Luckily there are plenty of budget priced choices on the market today if you know where to look. The first thing you'll need to do is decide which, if any, features you absolutely must have. For example, some golfers prefer cast iron and some prefer forged iron. Some are fine with a stainless steel clubhead while others insist on titanium.

The first place you may want to look is your local area. Find out if the pro shops in your area are running any discounts or sales. You may also want to check the classifieds. You may find golf clubs for sale by owner. Often a golfer is willing to give up a club for a bargain price if they are wanting to upgrade to something better, or if they are in desperate need of money. Of course, the Internet is also a fantastic place to search for golf clubs at great prices.

Craigslist is an online classifieds site where people can advertise for anything and everything. You can find all kinds of cheap clubs for sale by owner this way. Ebay is of course another option that may be even easier than Craigslist. One reason for this is because while Craigslist sellers usually requires you to pick up your merchandise in person, most Ebay sellers will ship the item to you. Also, you may find a wider variety of new and used drivers on Ebay. Just make sure you are dealing with a seller that has a high percentage of positive feedback.

There are also a variety of specialty golf stores online where you can buy discount golf drivers. Some of these drivers are new and some are used. There is nothing wrong with buying a used driver -- as a matter of fact it can save you a substantial amount of money. The challenge here is to find a driver that fits your measurements and specifications. Although it can be appealing to buy the cheapest driver you can find, it is very important to your golf game to select a driver that fits you properly. A driver that is not the right size for you is a waste of money.
